Get ready to raise a glass to the soulful sounds of Nashville! As the city gears up for Blavity House Party this weekend, June 14-16, Home & Texture has tapped two cocktail connoisseurs for five cocktail recipes that perfectly capture the essence of Music City and the ultimate vibes of the summer.

Shawanda Mason is the founder of Eat.Drink.Frolic, a Tennesee travel and food blog. Mason’s blog is a go-to voice for all things food, drinking, and fun in Tennessee and is “obsessed with Chrissy Teigen, pineapples and fancy cocktails. Rosalynn Daniels is a lifestyle content creator with a stunning home who loves to host. Daniels’ content features easy (and delicious) recipes and tips and tricks on how to be the hostess with the mostess. These two have curated a perfect mix of cocktail and mocktail recipes sure to kick your summer off right.

From the smooth, mellow notes of a classic Old Fashioned to the fun and fruity flavors of a Peach Pineapple White Wine Slushy, you honestly can’t go wrong. So whether you’re a whiskey aficionado or a sober teetotaler, these summer-inspired drinks will have you ready to grab your shaker and mix up some Southern hospitality.

Aperol Spritz

“An Aperol Spritz is certainly an acquired taste, but something about the bittersweet cocktail immediately transports you to Italy,” says Shawanda Mason, founder of Ingredients:

  • 3 oz prosecco
  • 2 oz Aperol
  • 1 oz club soda
  • Orange slice, for serving

Instructions:

  1. Fill a wine glass with ice and add your prosecco, Aperol, and club soda.
  2. Gently stir until completely mixed.
  3. Add an orange slice for garnish.

Old Fashioned

“An Old Fashioned is a no-frills classic cocktail that packs a punch and I feel like such an adult when sipping on one,” Mason tells Home & Texture.

Ingredients:

  • 2 oz bourbon
  • 2 dashes of Angostura bitters
  • ¼ oz simple syrup
  • Orange peel or Luxardo cherry for serving

Peach Pineapple White Wine Slushy

Serving Size: 6-8 cups
Prep Time: 3 minutes

Ingredients

  • 5c White wine of choice (I recommend Moscato for sweet or Sauvignon Blanc for dry)
  • 24oz Frozen Peaches
  • 24oz Frozen Pineapple Chunks
  • 1/2 Lime, juiced

Instructions

  1. Add all ingredients to a blender.
  2. Blend until all ingredients are fully combined and you have a smooth consistency.
  3. Garnish with a fresh peach and/or pineapple slice.

“My go-to frozen drink when entertaining is my Peach Pineapple White Wine Slushy. It is the ultimate refreshing drink to keep you cool while you vibe to the music, and can easily be made into a mocktail by swapping the white wine for zero-proof wine, white grape juice, or white peach juice,” says Daniels.

Reposado Espresso Martini

“I love this martini because it features an upgraded twist with reposado tequila instead of vodka, blended with espresso, Kahlua, and a hint of cream,” Daniels shares, “Making it the perfect drink to keep you dancing all night.”

Serving: 1-2
Prep Time: 3 minutes

Ingredients;

  • 1oz Reposado Tequila
  • 1oz Kahlua
  • 1oz Espresso
  • 1oz Heavy cream or milk of choice

Instructions:

  1. Fill a shaker with ice and all ingredients.
  2. Shake for 20 seconds.
  3. Strain into a martini glass.
  4. Garnish with coffee beans.
