With Her First Furniture Line, Tyka Pryde Sets a New Standard for Black Interiors

Her debut collection proves that Tyka Pryde is a name to know in the world of design.

When interior designer and set decorator Tyka Pryde first revealed Serena Page’s LA home, one detail stood out: the bed. Pictured below, the bed frame and headboard was custom-built, wall-to-wall and cooler than anything on the market — and it signaled something larger brewing behind the scenes. Now, with the launch of her debut home collection, Tyka Pryde Home, that vision is fully realized.

The line is a thoughtful continuation of Pryde’s signature style—soulful, sculptural, high-design—and it marks a natural evolution for the designer. Each piece feels personal, expressive, and above all, intentional. “I wanted to create furniture that feels like art you can live with,” she told Home & Texture. “Where every piece is just as beautiful as it is functional.”

From her dramatic black Eon Hand Sculpture Chair to the radiant, renter-friendly Sol Study light, Tyka Pryde Home is as much about feeling as it is form. Her work moves beyond trend, rooting itself in emotion, memory, and meaning. For Pryde, the Eon Hand Sculpture Chair is more than furniture. “It represents power, play, and presence,” she says. “A hand is one of the oldest symbols of creation, offering, and identity—and designing it as a chair, a Black chair, felt like an invitation to sit in your own strength.”

It’s a cool, unique statement piece of furniture that’s rich with symbolism from a Black designer, embodying everything the brand stands for: sculptural living, utility wrapped in meaning, and a deep respect for craft. “I’m DYING to see six of them around a dining table in the home of a Black icon or cultural leader,” Pryde adds. “That visual would say everything this brand is trying to say.”

And we can’t just gloss over the standout piece, the Sol Study, a glowing, gradient-lit wall sculpture that blends art and ambience. “I wanted to frame the sun,” Tyka shared. “To create something that felt like hope on a wall—a portal of warmth, color, and emotional grounding.” The gradient reflects transition and rebirth, a theme Pryde believes resonates a lot of people right now. It also happens to be renter-friendly and modestly priced starting at just $160, it is proof that intentional design doesn’t have to be out of reach.

And while organic buzz has propelled the Sol Study to viral status online, the way Pryde has responded to shipping hiccups—personally ensuring that customers are refunded or receive free replacements—has earned just as much admiration. Launching a brand from the ground up isn’t easy, but she’s setting a new standard for what small, design-forward businesses can look like.

Other funky pieces in the collection—like the wavy sculpted stools, marble Scrabble board, and organic shaped catchall dishes—show Pryde’s ability to balance statement-making form with function. Every line, curve, and texture is considered, yet nothing feels precious or out of place in a real home. Even in its earliest stages, Tyka Pryde Home feels like something rare: a brand that understands how furniture can tell a story—of self-expression, of resilience, of softness and strength all at once.

Watch closely because, according to the official site, this is just Collection 01. If these first releases are any indication, this is just the beginning of something extraordinary for Tyka Pryde.
