Naan bread is a delicious Indian cuisine. While it usually requires yeast and rising time, this simplified recipe uses just two ingredients, making it quick and easy to prepare at home.
Perfect for beginners or anyone looking for a fast and tasty side dish, this naan can be made in under 30 minutes with minimal effort.
For this recipe, use 1 cup of self-rising flour and ½ cup of Greek yogurt. You can double or triple the quantities if you’re making a larger batch.
In a large mixing bowl, combine the self-rising flour and Greek yogurt. The dough may appear slightly dry at first, but keep mixing until all the flour is incorporated.
Knead the dough for about 3-5 minutes until it becomes smooth and elastic. If the dough feels sticky, sprinkle a little more flour over it while kneading.
After kneading, divide the dough into equal portions. This recipe typically yields 4-6 small naans, depending on how large you want each piece to be.
Using a rolling pin, roll each ball of dough into a flat, oval shape. Aim for a thickness of about ¼ inch.
Once your pan is hot, place one piece of dough into the pan. Cook for about 2-3 minutes on the first side, or until bubbles begin to form on the surface.
Flip the naan and cook the other side for another 2-3 minutes. Continue cooking the rest of the dough in batches, making sure to keep an eye on the heat to prevent burning.
Your 2-ingredient naan bread is now ready to serve! It pairs perfectly with curries, dips or can even be used as a base for wraps and sandwiches
Give this recipe a try for your next meal – it’s a foolproof way to make naan at home in no time.
