Thought your relaxation was at its peak?! Bath bombs said "more."
To amplify the self-care experience, people often turn to fizzy and fabulous bath bombs. With just three ingredients, you can make your own at home!
Whether it's the sound of the fizz or how the colors mix into your bath, you're just three steps away from ultimate relaxation. All you need is baking soda, citric acid and water for a sudsy soak.
One of the three ingredients in a bath bomb, baking soda acts as a softening agent for your skin by removing dead cells.
Additionally, baking soda helps to remove soreness, skin irritation and sunburn while treating fungal and yeast infections.
In combination with baking soda, citric acid creates the action of fizzing. It also acts as a gentle exfoliating agent like baking soda does, meaning softer skin for you.
Citric acid is also known to help fade dark spots while possessing anti-aging properties. The use of it too often, however, can contribute to sun sensitivity.
Last but not least, essential to our baths and quenching our skin's thirst, water is the final ingredient in a bath bomb. It helps to mold the baking soda and citric acid to one another.
Water balances the oils in our skin, helping to prevent breakouts. It also boosts elasticity while evening out tone due to removing excess dirt.
Add equal parts baking soda and citric acid to the size of the container that you'd like the bath bomb to be. Slowly add in water until it becomes a mold. Allow to harden for 6-8 hours.
You can also use food coloring while the mix is liquid-y, should you decide to have a visually dynamic fizzy experience.
