3-Ingredient Nutella Mug Cake

Need a quick sweet treat? This 3-ingredient mug cake is the perfect solution!

Ingredients

All you'll need is Nutella, flour and an egg to make a delicious dessert in no time.

Choose Your Mug

Pick a microwave-safe mug. Make sure it’s large enough for the cake to rise, at least a 12 ounces should work.

Add Nutella

Scoop 1/4 cup of Nutella into the mug. If it's too thick, microwave for 10-15 seconds to soften.

Add the Egg

Crack 1 large egg on top of the Nutella. It can be organic or store bought, either one works just fine.  

Mix Ingredients

Use a fork or small whisk to thoroughly combine the Nutella and egg until smooth.

Add Flour

Add 2 tablespoons of all-purpose flour to the mug. For even better results, you can use self-rising flour. 

Mix Again

Stir the flour into the Nutella and egg mixture until you have a smooth, lump-free batter.

Microwave

Place the mug in the microwave and cook on high for 1 to 1.5 minutes. Keep an eye on it as it cooks – the cake will rise.

Check for Doneness

The cake is done when it’s firm and springy to the touch. If it looks too wet, microwave for an additional 10-15 seconds.

Optional Toppings

To customize your three-ingredient mug cake, add some optional toppings. We suggest chocolate chips, sprinkles or strawberries and whipped cream!
