Craving something sweet but short on time? A 5-ingredient mug cake is the perfect solution!
Choose a microwave-safe mug. Ensure it’s large enough to accommodate the cake as it rises during cooking.
Measure out 4 tablespoons of all-purpose flour and add directly to your mug. Make sure the flour is level for accurate measurement.
Next, add 4 tablespoons of sugar to the mug. This will give your cake the perfect sweetness.
Add 2 tablespoons of cocoa powder. This will give your cake a rich, chocolatey flavor. Mix the dry ingredients until well combined.
Pour 3 tablespoons of milk into the mug. You can substitute non-dairy options like almond or soy milk.
Add 3 tablespoons of vegetable oil to the mug. This will keep your cake moist and tender.
Stir all the ingredients together in the mug until you have a smooth, lump-free batter. Make sure to scrape the bottom of the mug to incorporate all the dry ingredients.
Place the mug in the microwave and cook on high for 90 seconds to 2 minutes. The exact time may vary depending on your microwave’s wattage.
Carefully remove the mug from the microwave (it will be hot!) and let the cake cool for a minute or two. Serve and enjoy!
