Get in the festive spirit with this Christmas margarita recipe. Serve some for friends and family at a get-together or make one to unwind from all the hecticness of the holidays.
2 oz silver tequila 1 oz triple sec (or Cointreau) 1 oz cranberry juice (unsweetened for a tart flavor, or sweetened if preferred) 1 oz lime juice (freshly squeezed)
½ oz simple syrup (adjust for sweetness, or use agave syrup) Ice cubes Fresh cranberries and lime slices (for garnish) Coarse salt or sugar (for rimming the glass)
The first step to making the perfect Christmas drink is to rub a lime wedge around the rim of your margarita glass.
Next, enhance the flavor by dipping the rim into coarse salt or sugar on a small plate.
In a cocktail shaker, combine tequila, triple sec, cranberry juice, lime juice and simple syrup.
Add a handful of ice cubes and shake vigorously for about 15 seconds.
Fill the prepared glass with ice then strain the margarita mixture into the glass.
Add a few fresh cranberries and a lime slice to the drink for a festive touch.
For a sparkling twist, top with a splash of club soda or prosecco.
