A good way for kids and adults to bond, this DIY craft combines festive colors, sparkly textures and holiday cheer into one squishy creation.
Gather your materials: clear glue, white glue, baking soda, contact lens solution, food coloring (red and green) and glitter.
Decide between clear or white glue as your base. Clear glue creates a glossy, translucent slime perfect for glitter, while white glue gives a frosty look.
Pour ½ cup of glue into a mixing bowl. You can double or triple the recipe if making a larger batch.
Add ½ teaspoon of baking soda to the glue and mix well. Baking soda helps thicken the slime and gives it the right texture.
Add a few drops of red or green food coloring to the mixture. For a multi-colored effect, divide the slime and mix different colors separately.
Sprinkle in your glitter! Go as festive as you like with red, green, gold or silver glitter. Stir thoroughly so the sparkle is evenly distributed.
Add 1 tablespoon of contact lens solution and stir until the slime forms. If it’s sticky, add a few more drops until it pulls away from the bowl.
Remove the slime from the bowl and knead it with your hands for 1-2 minutes. This step helps achieve the perfect stretchy, non-sticky consistency.
Store your Christmas slime in an airtight container to keep it fresh and stretchy. It should last up to two weeks if sealed properly.
