Cuban cocktails are filled with history like the country they originate from. Many cite the island as the home of classic cocktails like the Daiquiri and the Mojito.
In a tall glass, muddle 6-8 mint leaves and 2 tsp sugar together to release the mint’s oils. Add 1 oz fresh lime juice and 2 oz white rum, and stir to dissolve the sugar.
Fill the glass with ice, and top with club soda. Stir gently and garnish with lime wedges and a sprig of mint.
2 oz white rum 1 oz fresh lime juice 1/2 oz simple syrup (or sugar) Ice cubes Lime wheel (for garnish)
Shake the rum, lime juice, and simple syrup in a cocktail shaker with ice. Strain into a chilled coupe or martini glass. Garnish with a lime wheel.
2 oz white or dark rum 1/2 oz fresh lime juice Cola (to top) Lime wedge (for garnish) Ice cubes
Fill a highball glass with ice. Pour in the rum and lime juice. Top with cola, and stir gently. Garnish with a lime wedge.
1.5 oz white rum 3/4 oz dry vermouth 1/4 oz orange curaçao 1/4 oz grenadine Ice cubes and orange peel (garnish)
Stir the rum, vermouth, curaçao and grenadine in a mixing glass with ice. Strain into a chilled martini or coupe glass. Garnish with an orange peel twist.
2 oz Cuban aguardiente or white rum 1 oz fresh lime juice 1 tbsp honey Ice cubes Lime wedge (for garnish)
Stir the honey with lime juice in a glass until dissolved. Add rum and stir again. Fill with ice, garnish with a lime wedge and enjoy.
2 oz white rum 1 oz pineapple juice 1/2 oz apricot liqueur 1/2 oz fresh lime juice Ice cubes and pineapple slice
Shake all ingredients in a cocktail shaker with ice. Strain into a chilled cocktail glass. Garnish with a pineapple slice.
