4 Delightful Diwali Mocktails

India is the most populous country in the world with more than 1.4 billion people in an area of 1.2 million square miles.

Nealy 80% of the population identifies as Hindu and the religion's biggest festival is Diwali. The name is derived from the Sanskrit word, "dīpāvali," which means, "row or series of lights."

Diwali celebrates the victory of light over darkness, good over evil and knowledge over ignorance. Here are four Diwali mocktails that will bring brightness to your holiday.

1 ounce lemon juice 2 ounces brewed rose tea Soda water 1 flower bud

Blushing Lemonade

Pour lemon juice into a rocks glass filled with ice. Add rose tea. Top with soda water. Garnish with a flower bud of your choice.

Recipe

1 cup coconut water 1 1/2 cup mango juice 3/4 tablespoon grated ginger 1/2 tablespoon chaat masala 4 slices jalapeno pepper Fresh mint leaves

Spicy Mango

Combine ginger, chaat masala, 3 slices of jalapeno and a handful of mint leaves in a cocktail mixer and muddle. Fill mixer with ice. Add coconut water and mango juice. Shake vigorously. Strain into a glass. Garnish with mint and jalapeno slice.

Recipe

2 ounces brewed kaafir lime tea 1 teaspoon ground ginger 1/2 teaspoon chili powder 1 teaspoon honey

Spiced Kaafir Lime Tea

Brew kaffir lime tea and let cool to room temperature. Pour into glass with ice. Ad ginger, chili powder and honey. Stir gently until mixed thoroughly.

Recipe

1 shot espresso 2 shots vanilla syrup 1/2 shot cream 1/2 teaspoon chili powder 1/2 teaspoon ground cardamom 3 coffee beans

Spiced Espresso Mocktini

Combine all ingredients except for cream in an ice-filled cocktail mixer. Shake vigorously. Strain into martini or coupe glass. Top with cream. Garnish with coffee beans and a dash of chili powder.
