Did you know that Marshmallow Peeps were originally handmade and took over 27 hours to make each one?
Thankfully, times (and recipes) have changed. These days, you can whip up adorable, crowd-pleasing Easter desserts in a fraction of the time – no candy factory required.
Whether you’re hosting brunch, filling baskets or just treating yourself, these sweet ideas are as easy as they are egg-stra special.
What you'll need: 3 cups shredded wheat 1 cup chocolate chips (milk or semi-sweet) Mini candy eggs (like Cadbury Mini Eggs)
Melt the chocolate chips in the microwave or over a double boiler. Stir in the shredded wheat until fully coated. Spoon little “nests” onto parchment paper, then press 2–3 mini eggs into the center of each. Let them cool until set.
What you'll need: 1 bag chocolate chips 1 package Marshmallow Peeps Graham crackers for dipping
Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Pour chocolate chips into an oven-safe skillet or baking dish. Layer Peeps on top. Bake for 5–8 minutes until the Peeps are puffed and slightly golden. Serve immediately with graham crackers!
What you'll need: 3 tbsp butter 1 package mini marshmallows 6 cups Rice Krispies cereal Sprinkles or pastel M&Ms (optional) Food coloring (optional)
Melt butter in a large saucepan, add marshmallows and stir until melted. Add a few drops of pastel food coloring if desired. Stir in cereal, mix well. Press into a greased pan and top with sprinkles or M&Ms. Let cool, then cut.
What you'll need: 1 block cream cheese (softened) 1/2 cup powdered sugar 1/2 cup lemon curd 1 cup whipped cream (store-bought or homemade) Crushed graham crackers
Whip cream cheese and powdered sugar until smooth. Fold in lemon curd and whipped cream. Layer mousse and crushed graham crackers in small cups or jars. Chill until ready to serve!
