If you're looking for a festive treat that’s both delicious and easy to prepare, look no further than eggnog pie. This creamy, spiced dessert captures the warm flavors of classic eggnog in a pie form.
Follow these step-by-step instructions to create a festive masterpiece that everyone will love for National Pie Die, which falls on Dec. 1st!
Graham cracker crust 1 ½ cups eggnog 2 eggs ¾ cup sugar
1 packet gelatin 1 tsp vanilla ½ tsp nutmeg Whipped cream
Use a store-bought graham cracker crust or make your own by mixing crushed graham crackers with melted butter and pressing it into a pie pan. Chill until firm.
In a small bowl, sprinkle gelatin over ¼ cup of cold water. Let it sit for 5 minutes to soften while you prepare the other ingredients.
In a saucepan, whisk eggnog, sugar and eggs over medium heat. Stir constantly until the mixture thickens slightly, but don’t let it boil.
Remove the eggnog mixture from heat and stir in the softened gelatin until fully dissolved. Let cool for about 10 minutes.
Mix in the vanilla extract and nutmeg to enhance the eggnog flavor. Adjust the spices if desired for a more pronounced taste.
Once cooled and slightly thickened, pour the eggnog filling into the prepared graham cracker crust. Spread evenly with a spatula.
Refrigerate the pie for at least 4 hours or until the filling is fully set. This step ensures a firm and creamy texture.
Slice the pie with a clean, sharp knife, wiping it between cuts for neat slices. Serve chilled and savor the holiday flavors.
