One advantage of Halloween get togethers is that they tend to be more casual than those held for Christmas or Thanksgiving.
Another is that dishes served are simpler without the need to slave over a hot stove. Here are three Halloween appetizer recipes that will be a guaranteed hit.
8 ounces cream cheese 10 slices hard salami 4 green onions, chopped 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese 1 pretzel stick
Blend all of the ingredients except for the pretzel stick and cheese in a mixing bowl.
Using a sheet of cling wrap, mold the mixture into a ball.
Place the ball onto a presentation board then garnish with cheddar and stick the pretzel stick on top so it looks like a pumpkin. Serve with crackers and sliced veggies.
6 avocados, skinned and pitted 2 cans diced tomatoes and green chillies mix 1 white onion, diced 1 tablespoon lime juice 2 carrots, julienned Kosher salt and coarse black pepper
Blend all ingredients except for the carrots in a mixing bowl using a fork.
Spread the mixture into an oval serving dish. Construct a face using the julienned carrots and carrot tops. Serve with purple tortilla chips.
6 hard boiled eggs 1/4 cup bacon fried and crumbled 1/2 cup mayonnaise 1/2 cup Dijon mustard Seasonings to taste (e.g. mixture of sugar, salt, pepper, garlic, etc.)
Cut eggs in half lengthwise and remove yolks. Put the yolks aside.
Mix yolks and all other ingredients except egg whites using a potato masher.
Scoop mixture into the egg white halves, shaping them decoratively, if desired. Sprinkle crumbled bacon on top.
Halloween appetizers serve up devilishly delicious fun without much work.
