Here are some fun and spooky Halloween treat ideas to get you ready for spooky season! From appetizers to desserts, these recipes are delicious and creatively eerie.
Unroll crescent dough and cut into thin strips. Wrap hot dogs with the dough, leaving a small space for the “face.”
Bake in the oven at 375°F (190°C) for 10-12 minutes, or until golden brown. Use mustard or ketchup to add little eyes on the “mummy.”
Make 1 package of instant pudding. Layer it into small cups and top with crushed Oreos.
Insert a cookie or graham crackers into the pudding for a "tombstone" and write “RIP” with melted chocolate or icing. Add gummy worms and serve chilled.
You'll need: 6 large eggs (hard-boiled), ¼ cup mayonnaise, 1 tsp mustard, salt and pepper to taste, paprika for garnish and chives for stems.
Cut the hard-boiled eggs in half and remove the yolks. Mash the yolks with mayonnaise, mustard, salt and pepper.
Spoon the mixture back into the egg whites then use a toothpick to create lines on the filling to resemble a pumpkin. Sprinkle with paprika and add a small piece of chive as a pumpkin "stem."
Preheat the oven and roll pieces of dough into thin finger shapes. Use a knife to make knuckle marks! Press a whole almond into the tip of each cookie to form a “fingernail.”
Bake until golden brown. Once cooled, use red food coloring or jam at the base of the "nails" to make them look bloody.
You'll need: 4 orange bell peppers, 1 lb ground beef or turkey, 1 cup cooked rice, 1 cup tomato sauce, 1 onion, chopped and salt, pepper and spices to taste.
Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Cut off the tops of the bell peppers and remove seeds. Carefully carve small jack-o'-lantern faces on one side of each pepper.
Cook ground beef with onions, then stir in tomato sauce, cooked rice and seasoning. Stuff the mixture into the peppers and place them in a baking dish. Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until peppers are tender.
These recipes are simple, spooky and fun for everyone at a Halloween party.
