Eat Like an Angel: Heaven on Earth Cake Recipe

Ingredients

Follow the instructions on the angel food cake mix box. Typically, this will involve combining contents with water and baking at 350°F (175°C) for around 30 minutes in an ungreased pan. Allow the cake to cool completely.

In a mixing bowl, combine the instant vanilla pudding mix with 2 cups of cold milk. Whisk for 2 minutes until it thickens. Place in the refrigerator for a few minutes to set.

Once the angel food cake has cooled, cut it into bite-sized cubes. Layer the angel food cake cubes at the bottom in a large trifle dish or serving bowl.

Spread the vanilla pudding evenly over the cake cubes. Then Gently spread a layer of whipped topping over the pudding.

If you want to add a touch of vanilla flavor, you can mix a little vanilla extract into the whipped topping before spreading it.

Spoon the cherry pie filling evenly on top of the whipped topping layer. You can gently spread the cherries to cover the entire surface, or leave them as is for a more natural look.

Refrigerate the cake for at least 2 hours, or overnight, to allow the flavors to blend and the dessert to firm up.

Before serving, you can garnish it with the almonds, extra whipped topping or fresh cherries for a pop of color.
