Start by heating a large skillet over medium heat. Add the ground beef and cook until browned, breaking it up into small crumbles with a spatula.
Add chopped onion to pan. Sauté for 3-4 minutes until the onion softens. Add minced garlic and cook for an additional minute until fragrant.
Pour in beef broth and milk, stirring to combine with the beef and onion mixture. Bring to a simmer over medium heat.
Add 1 teaspoon each of paprika and garlic powder. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
Add elbow macaroni to the skillet, stirring to combine. Bring to a gentle boil, then reduce the heat to low. Cover the skillet and let it simmer for about 8-10 minutes.
Once the pasta is cooked, reduce the heat to low. Stir in the shredded cheddar cheese until it’s fully melted and the sauce becomes creamy.
Taste your Hamburger Helper and adjust the seasonings if necessary. Add more salt, pepper or spices to match your flavor preferences.
Once the cheese is melted and the sauce is creamy, your homemade Hamburger Helper is ready! Serve it hot and enjoy a delicious, homemade comfort meal.
Nothing beats homemade cooking!
