Mexican guacamole salsa combines the creamy richness of avocados with the zesty kick of salsa.
This guide will walk you through making a flavorful guacamole salsa in just a few easy steps.
Husk the tomatillos and rinse them thoroughly under cool water to remove any sticky residue.
Place the tomatillos and peppers on a dry skillet or baking sheet and roast until they’re charred and softened. Roasting adds a smoky depth to the salsa.
Cut each avocado in half, remove the pit and scoop out the flesh. Place the avocado in a large mixing bowl.
Add the roasted tomatillos, peppers, cilantro, onion and garlic to a bowl or food processor. Blend until smooth for a creamy salsa.
Squeeze fresh lime juice into the salsa and add a pinch of salt to taste. The lime brightens up the flavors and keeps the avocado from browning.
Pour the blended salsa over the avocado. Gently mash and stir until you reach your desired consistency – smooth or chunky.
Sample the guacamole salsa and adjust seasoning as needed, adding more salt or lime juice for extra zing.
Mexican guacamole salsa is perfect with tortilla chips, tacos or as a topping for grilled meats. Serve immediately to enjoy the freshest flavors.
