As fall's crisp breeze sets in, compliment it with a refreshing Paloma. This tequila-based cocktail, often enjoyed in summer, can easily be adapted for autumn.
Gather the following ingredients: 2 oz of tequila (preferably blanco), ½ oz of lime juice, 2 oz of freshly squeezed grapefruit juice, 2 oz of club soda and a pinch of salt.
For a rich fall twist, opt for a reposado tequila, which has been aged in oak barrels. This aging process imparts subtle notes of vanilla, caramel and oak.
Fresh grapefruit juice is key to any Paloma recipe, bringing a bright, citrusy flavor that cuts through the richness of the tequila.
Lime juice adds the perfect tangy note to complement the sweet and bitter flavors of the grapefruit.
Agave gives the drink a smoother sweetness that harmonizes with the tequila, while honey adds a cozy, earthy note.
You don’t need much – just a dash of cinnamon in the shaker or on top of the finished cocktail for an extra layer of complexity.
In a shaker filled with ice, combine the tequila, grapefruit juice, lime juice, agave syrup or honey and a pinch of cinnamon. Shake well to mix and chill the ingredients.
Once the cocktail is poured, it’s time to add the fizz! Top your Paloma with club soda or sparkling water to lighten the drink.
Garnish your Paloma with a slice of grapefruit or lime for a pop of color. For a seasonal twist, consider adding a cinnamon stick or a sprig of rosemary.
The fall Paloma is the perfect blend of fresh fruit, spices and warm tequila flavors. It's the ideal cocktail for fall gatherings.
