Thoughtful Thanksgiving Prayer Ideas

It is a tradition across the world and throughout a variety religions to thank God for providing the food before eating a meal. This is also known as saying grace.

This tradition dates back to the Bible where it is written that Jesus thanked God many times before a meal. He provided food for thousands in Matthew 15:34-36 and before the Last Supper in Matthew 26:26–28.

Saying grace not only predates Jesus within the Bible but also the establishment of Christianity. No matter the religion, saying grace is about being grateful for being provided a nourishing meal.

If you choose to lead the dinner table in saying grace this Thanksgiving, here are some Thanksgiving prayer ideas to give thanks for the food.
