In the whirlwind world of social media, culinary trends come and go. Among the latest of the hype is "Marry Me Chicken Dinner," a recipe that has taken TikTok by storm.
After Delish's Lindsay Funston created her viral Tuscan Chicken Pasta dish, she worked on a skillet version, but didn't know what to call it until her videographer gave her an idea.
"Our videographer Chelsea grabbed a fork to try the final result. Once she took a bite, she blurted out, 'I'd marry you for that chicken!' and the now-famous name was born," she shares.
This recipe is pretty simple, with ingredients you can find in most cupboards. It takes about 40 minutes and lends to four servings.
Preheat the oven to 375 and season your chicken with salt and pepper. Let it cook for about five minutes on each side or until golden brown on a skillet.
Put the chicken on a plate, then add two tablespoons of olive oil, garlic, red pepper flakes and thyme into the skillet to cook for about one minute.
Add in a pinch of salt, parmesan, cream, tomatoes and broth and let it simmer. Add the chicken back in to marinate while it simmers.
You can begin spooning some of the juices in the skillet over the chicken while it simmers to ensure it soaks up all the flavors.
After it's been soaking in the skillet, put it into the oven to cook further. Leave it to roast until the chicken is completely cooked through.
Once it's done, remove it and spoon more sauce on it, garnish it with some basil and wait to cool down before serving.
This is a pretty versatile dinner so it pairs well with just about anything. You can serve it with some mashed potatoes, grilled veggies, pasta, or a simple side of garlic bread.
Savory, creamy and easy to make. It's easy to see why "Marry Me Chicken" has become such an internet sensation.
