Where Does Smokey Robinson Live?

From his Detroit roots to glamorous Los Angeles estates, let’s take a look at the homes that have shaped Robinson's journey and his current life in Pittsburgh.

Robinson grew up in a tight-knit, predominantly Black neighborhood on Detroit’s north side. Living just four doors away from him was Diana Ross and Aretha Franklin was nearby too.

Growing Up in Detroit

One of Smokey’s homes in L.A. was originally built in 1882 and later moved to Encino. This historic estate includes original moldings, wainscoting, a sunroom and multiple fireplaces.

Los Angeles Luxury

In 2016, Smokey’s Los Angeles estate, listed for $3.6 million, sold for a stunning $8.25 million in 2018 to Real Housewives star Kyle Richards and her husband.

A Record-Breaking Sale

Smokey purchased another home in Indian Springs in 2002 for $2.7 million. This luxurious estate featured six bedrooms, six bathrooms, a domed foyer and a soundproof home theater.

Indian Springs Estate

Smokey and his wife Francis now reside in Pittsburgh, a city he calls home. The R&B icon has embraced a quieter life.

As an interior designer, Francis has played a role in creating beautiful spaces in their homes.

Smokey has written or collaborated on over 4,000 songs. His homes have always been havens for his creative genius.

Smokey’s journey through homes reflects his evolution as an artist and a man who values both family and luxury.

Smokey's impeccable taste in real estate, combined with his love for family, golf  and creativity, paints a picture of a true icon who knows how to live life to the fullest.
