How Candace Rogue Designed a Home That Doubles as a Creative Sanctuary

Proof that designing for joy is always the right choice.

Virginia-native Creative Candace Rogue’s home doesn’t whisper its intentions — it declares them from the moment you step inside. Tucked away in Atlanta, her multi-use ADU operates as a living space, creative studio, and gathering place all at once, blurring the lines between home and practice in a way that feels equally personal and impressive. As a multidisciplinary creator and artist, Candace approached her space the same way she approaches her work: intuitively, playfully, and without fear of color or emotion.

Rather than designing with neutrality in mind, Candace leaned into expression. Early on, she admits she considered playing it safe — sticking to white walls to accommodate future renters or Peerspace guests. But once she committed fully to her vision, the space transformed into something warmer and more magnetic. Patterned wallpaper, hand-painted walls, saturated color, and layered materials now shape an environment that feels inviting instead of generic.

The studio level functions as both workspace and communal hub. Color is used with intention, not decoration — bold hues anchor the room while vintage furniture finds and collected objects add a sense of history and character that you can’t find at department stores. Pieces sourced from Goodwill, Value Village, Facebook Marketplace, and Atlanta Used Furniture sit comfortably alongside custom finishes and renovation work, creating a balance between refinement and accessibility. Nothing feels overly polished, but everything feels considered and striking that balance is no simple feat.

Upstairs, the loft bedroom offers a different kind of energy. Still playful, but quieter. Here, pattern and texture do the talking, creating a space that supports rest without losing the creative thread that runs throughout the home. Even the bathrooms reflect that same ethos — richly colored tile, vintage-inspired fixtures, and thoughtful details that turn functional spaces into moments of delight.

What makes Candace’s home stand out isn’t just its visual impact — it’s the emotional clarity behind it.

The space reflects a creator who chose self-trust over neutrality, and joy over restraint. By designing a home that feels like an extension of herself, Candace created something that welcomes guests, collaborators, and friends not just into her space, but into her world.
