While it’s true that liquor is the starring role of a cocktail, the best libations would be nothing if it weren’t for their tasty liqueur companions. Orange liqueur, for example, is arguably one of the most iconic ingredients. It’s sweet, tangy, and boozy, and has the right amount of zing to brighten up a beverage. The citrus flavors even play well with almost every kind of alcohol. In that vein, it’s easy to see why it’s a staple on any bar cart.
From beloved brands like Cointreau, Grand Marnier, and Triple Sec to gourmet bottles such as Pierre Ferrand Dry Curaçao, Luxardo Triplum, and Bols, there’s no shortage of styles to choose from. Fortunately, there’s also a bevy of cocktails to make with them. Ahead, see five orange liqueur cocktails to keep in your drink rolodex.
