The Mcdonald's breakfast burrito has been around since 1989, and has become a staple breakfast food for many.
Over the years the establishment has been criticized for supposedly shrinking portions while inflating prices, which has made some customers upset.
While this has yet to be definitively proven, if you want to ensure you're getting portions that meet your standards, this breakfast item is easily made at home.
Eggs Green peppers Beakfast sausage (patty or link) Onions Cheese White flour tortilla
McDonald's typically serves their breakfast burritos with salsa on the side as well as a hashbrown.
Cook the breakfast sausage according to packaging. If you're using links you can cut up the sausage into smaller piece. For patties, cut in half and place them lengthwise on the tortilla.
Once removing sausage from the pan, add in diced onions and green peppers. Cook on medium heat until the vegetables are warm.
In a bowl, crack and whisk eggs. Once fully whisked, pour over top of the veggies.
If you have previously cut up the sausage you can add that to the egg mixture.
Stir the egg mixture until ingredients are well combined and eggs are fully cooked.
Take your tortilla and add on a layer of cheese. Then follow with the egg mixture.
Fold the burrito, and voila! Your very own copycat McDonald's breakfast burrito, ready to eat.
