The Starbucks holiday menu is a yearly highlight for many coffee drinkers, and the excitement is in part due to its limited availability.
There is no set date that the menu begins. Typically, the festive drinks become available within the first week of November.
Similar to the start date, Starbucks remains elusive about when exactly they will remove the drinks from the menu.
In the past, the company has typically waited until the second week of January before getting rid of the holiday menu.
If they continue with this tradition, we will likely see the drinks phased out between Jan. 12-18 this year.
Because we can’t know for sure how long the drinks will be around, the best option is to stay up to date through the mobile app, which keeps tabs on what is currently available for purchase.
All individual stores operate on different schedules and therefore there is not always a single date that they adhere to. In this case, it may be helpful to ask a barista at the Starbucks you frequent.
Just because Starbucks will no longer serve some of our favourite holiday drinks doesn't mean we need to wait till next year to enjoy them again. Some can easily be made from the comfort of our own homes.
The gingerbread oat milk chai requires only a few ingredients. Many that you likely already have at home.
All you need is chai tea, oat milk (or any substitute you prefer), gingerbread syrup (homemade or store-bought), and a selection of spices including nutmeg, cinnamon and ginger to taste.
Once you've added these ingredients to your chai latte, top it off with some whipped cream and sprinkle of cinnamon.
