Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson, born on July 6, 1975, in Queens, New York, has experienced a remarkable journey from his modest upbringing to achieving global fame and wealth. Even though he doesn’t hit the studio as feverishly as in decades past, Fif still has a special place in the hearts of early 2000s rap fiends. Over the years he has utilized his time in the spotlight to secure his financial future, even sharing advice with his supporters along the way. What sets 50 Cent apart is that he’s not in the practice of just making fast money – the father of two aims for longevity with his investments.
While the celebrity has lived somewhat away from the spotlight in recent years, he has been living quite comfortably. His hits like “I Get Money” nod at his wealth and fans can believe the hype. In fact, Jackson’s real estate portfolio is impressive and seemingly growing by the day. Here is what we know about his homes and the answer to the big question, where does 50 Cent live now?
Curtis Jackson Grew up in South Jamaica, a Notoriously Tough Neighborhood

50 Cent’s early life in the South Jamaica neighborhood of Queens, New York, was shaped by hardship and adversity. Growing up in one of the toughest areas of the city, he faced challenges many of his peers could not imagine. His mom, Sabrina, was a drug dealer who raised him in a world full of violence and instability. Tragically, she was murdered when Jackson was just eight years old, leaving him to be raised by his grandparents. This loss deeply impacted him and shaped much of his outlook on life.
During this time, South Jamaica was notorious for drug trafficking and gang violence. The neighborhood’s tough environment would later influence many of 50 Cent’s lyrics, with his music often reflecting the harsh realities of the streets. He spent much of his childhood alone or with close family members, which is likely why his songs evoke themes of survival, loss and overcoming obstacles. Even in interviews, 50 Cent has spoken about his experiences as a young boy trying to navigate through an environment where danger was always just around the corner.
Despite these challenges, his early years provided a foundation for his work ethic and resilience. As he began to pursue a career in music, the raw experiences of the East Coast icon’s youth became fuel for his rise to fame. Jackson’s early years are not just a backdrop to his music – they’re integral to his identity, both as a man and as an artist. His music often speaks to those who face similar struggles, and his success story serves as an inspiration for others who have come from difficult backgrounds. Even though 50 Cent didn’t grow up in a mansion, he did come out on top.
Fif Paid $4.1 Million for Mike Tyson’s Old Crib in 2003
50 Cent has lived in various cities over the years, with his most notable residence being a 50,000-square-foot mansion in Farmington, Connecticut, that he purchased in 2003 for $4.1 million. This home became one of the most talked-about properties in the media due to its size and luxurious features. Additionally, boxing champion Mike Tyson previously owned the massive property, adding to its appeal.
In 2019, the “Candy Shop” hitmaker sold the property for $2.9 million, which was a significant price drop compared to what he paid. The mansion featured 19 bedrooms, 25 bathrooms, an indoor pool, a nightclub and a basketball court, showcasing his success and extravagant lifestyle at the time. The property was listed for sale for years, with multiple price cuts before it eventually sold.
Where Does 50 Cent Live Right Now?

As of now, 50 Cent lives in a much more private residence in New York City. The current home he lives in is technically a bit less extravagant than his once massive residence – but that’s surely not due to a lack of funds. Even with the profit he made from his previous home, Jackson planned to donate it to his non-profit G-Unit Foundation Inc. His exact location has been kept under wraps, as he values his privacy nowadays. But, as Architectural Digest reports, the rapper is based in Manhattan’s midtown west.
According to Us Magazine’s exclusive look at the home, 50 Cent has made his most recent home match his flashy style. The home, which is decorated in black-and-white almost exclusively, is definitely eye catching. It has plenty of amenities for the rapper to enjoy in his privacy since the home’s spa even rivals some high end resorts. There is a sauna, indoor lap pool and a cold plunge in his house. He credits himself for the high end look of his place because he opted not to use an interior decorator and instead selected art and aesthetics himself.
For example, in his dining room he has one gem that fans would ogle over. A snapshot from his 2005 premiere of Get Rich or Die Tryin’ hangs and reflects off of his grand chandelier. It is one of his favorites and reminds him of the beginning of his well established career in entertainment.
Outside of this home, there have been reports of him owning multiple properties in New York City. Despite this, these have not been confirmed with specific addresses.
Rapper’s Real Estate Plans for the Future
50 Cent has also shown interest in real estate projects outside of traditional residential properties. For example, in 2024, the New Yorker purchased two buildings in downtown Shreveport, Louisiana. These properties were situated at 218 and 205 Texas Street, near the location of the former Dripp Donuts. These acquisitions fit into his broader real estate strategy, which includes investing in urban redevelopment projects. His real estate activity now seems focused on revitalizing urban areas. He also seems to be exploring opportunities in commercial and residential properties for development. Since then, Jackson has acquired a few more spaces in downtown Shreveport, but they have either been abandoned properties or vacant lots.
As for future plans, there have been no official public announcements regarding major upcoming real estate ventures. He has made reference to having big plans on social media, even hinting at a collaboration with Tyler Perry (another self made man who has majorly stepped into the real estate and land ownership world after fame).
