Trap artist Jeffrey “Young Thug” Lamar Williams (aka Thugger) has been called “a cut above” the mumble rap subgenre. Releasing his first mixtape in 2011, Thug was discovered and signed just two years later by Atlanta-based rap icon Gucci Mane. The success of Thug’s musical career has garnered attention to other aspects of his lifestyle.
The Longest-Running Criminal Trial In Atlanta
In May 2022, Thug was arrested for an alleged connection to a street gang accused of violent acts, ranging from murder to drug dealing. There have been ongoing debates about the abbreviation for his record label. While his attorney claimed YSL stood for Yves Saint Laurent, other variations were believed to be the gang “Young Slime Life” or his record label “Young Stoner Life.” Regardless, the YSL member was involved in the longest-running criminal case in the history of Georgia, approximating over two years of jail time.
And, on Thursday, October 31, the rapper was released from jail after changing his plea to guilty on drug and gun-related charges. He also pleaded no contest to charges of conspiracy and gang affiliation. Thug must complete a 20-year sentence with 15 years of probation. (The other five are dependent on his conduct during probation.)
With a felony with probation judgment, Young Thug was ordered to leave Atlanta in 48 hours and cannot return for 10 years. The only exceptions are “to attend the wedding, funeral, or graduation from high school, college, or graduate school, or medical emergency of immediate family members only.” He may enter the Metro Atlanta area up to 24 hours prior to any event listed above but must leave the Metro Atlanta Area within 48 hours after this event. Now being almost banned from Atlanta, here’s what we know about the Buckhead home Young Thug returned to.
Young Thug’s Buckhead Heights Home On the Market Again
Thug purchased his Buckhead home in 2016 for $2.75 million. The mansion holds five bedrooms and nine bathrooms in a living space of approximately 10,000 square feet. This two-story property includes two fireplaces, a sun room, a large kitchen, walk-out balconies and patios, a theater room, an indoor pool and a “hidden” room.
In 2017, the Atlanta rapper was sued by Heritage Select Homes, LLC for allegedly owing $2.2 million on the Buckhead property. To get this debt off his hands, Young Thug sold it for $1.8 million three years later. And now the home is being sold again for $2.6 million.
But where does Young Thug live now? Here’s what we know about the mumble rapper’s current residence.
Young Thug Finds His Way ‘Home’
The rapper was formerly engaged to model Jerrika Karlae of whom he had a photo on his cell wall. Since their breakup, the rapper has also been linked to Mariah the Scientist.
His upcoming living arrangements are yet to be determined. But with a “Did you miss me?” jacket on, a few welcome posts from T.I. and dancing around to new music shortly after walking free, Thugger has clearly found his way “home” to a studio.
