Tom Holland has always been a buzzy name in Hollywood. As the star of box office hits like Marvel’s “Spiderman” films, action movies like “Uncharted and Cherry,” and even family flicks like Disney & Pixar’s “Onward,” there’s no denying his star power. Then there is his near-perfect relationship with Zendaya, which has captivated the internet for years and now has the world swooning even harder with the recent news of their engagement.

But beyond his work and love life, Holland is also an entrepreneur, and his passion project—a non-alcoholic beer called Bero—is much more than a labor of love. Bero was born from a lifestyle adjustment that changed Holland’s life. Growing up in the U.K., pints and lagers of all sorts are pretty common, regardless of the occasion. Frequent imbibing is also pretty common, but when Holland decided to take a break for Dry January, things got real.

In a recent interview with Men’s Health, the actor spoke on his journey to sobriety beginning in January 2022. For many people, January is a time to restart and shed bad habits. During the turn of a new year, diets are set into place, and for some, drinking takes a back seat. While Holland didn’t think he had a bad experience with alcohol, he recounts that settling into sober life for Dry January was a challenge.

Though you don’t have to partake to be social, cocktails and social settings often go hand in hand. His decision to continue sobriety beyond the initial month led him to a strong realization that beer can be just as enjoyable with zero alcohol. With Bero, he aims to showcase the social side of NA beer. The brand features three varieties: a hazy IPA, a golden pilsner, and a heady wheat beer, along with a range of stylish merch.
