This might be controversial, but one of the best parts of becoming a PC gamer isn’t collecting a variety of games to play. Creating a cozy, welcoming environment at your gaming desk—or even better, an entire room dedicated to gaming—is an exciting journey from start to finish.
Even though gaming can quickly become an expensive pastime, there’s something rewarding about creating a relaxing environment for hours-long gameplay. Trust me, an ergonomic chair makes an astonishing difference when you really get into a good game. Once you’ve paired a comfortable gaming chair with a spacious L-shaped desk or a flexible standing desk, it’s time to decorate.
This is the best opportunity to intertwine your personality and interests in your desk. If pink is your favorite color, there are endless gaming accessories, like handheld controllers and keyboards, in every shade of pink. And when it comes to decorations, don’t sleep on indoor houseplants. Nearly half of the Twitch streamers and content creators who spoke to Home & Texture about their gaming setups have a small potted plant or pothos vine that adds something special to their desk.
For these six gamers, their Twitch audiences don’t have the privilege of seeing their elaborate setups, which range from beloved childhood characters to earthy hues. If you’re considering purchasing a gaming desk, here’s some inspiration for prioritizing comfort and coziness in your desk decor.

LastBlackSpartan
For the last five years, LastBlackSpartan’s goal as a content creator has been to “build a community where nerdy individuals can gather comfortably and take pride in what makes them a nerd.” And if you join one of his Final Fantasy Friday streams on Twitch, you’ll understand exactly what he means.
His ideal desk setup is primarily black with splashes of red, which includes a red neon sign of his online moniker. When he first started gaming on his PC, LastBlackSpartan dreamt of a desk setup “that looked really dope at night” while maintaining his nerdy interests. On Twitch or YouTube, you can find him playing story-based or multiplayer games.

Shotou
Now that it’s fall, the warm color scheme that covers Shotou’s PC setup offers the cozy environment that he envisioned, and the potted plants complement the desk’s earthy hues. According to him, the desk riser is one of the best additions to his desk, since it’s a clutter-free way to keep a productive workspace. Even though he’s been streaming on Twitch for a handful of years, Shotou’s computer space is also multi-functional to support his professional photography career.

Kaisirii
Adorned with Funko Pops, adorable Kirby plushies, and miniature Sanrio figurines, Kaisirii says that her gaming desk setup is a reflection of her love for “all things bright and colorful,” especially with its thoughtful accents of white and pink. Take a closer look while she’s streaming on Twitch—it’s impossible to miss the baby blue desk, chair, and controller that light up her cozy corner.
“I’ve always embraced bold, colorful designs in my wardrobe, cosplays, and creative projects, so it just made sense that my gaming desk setup would reflect that same energy,” she said. Her interest in gaming spans from old Kirby games to the Call of Duty franchise, and she recently joined Twitch’s handpicked Black Women of COD streamers.

Ciarratonin
With a desk setup like that, it’s no surprise that she’s playing The Sims 4, an equally cozy simulation game. Even though you can’t view it in her Twitch streams, peep the grassy green backdrop behind her PC. The earthy hues complement the hanging plants parallel to her monitor, proving that plants are always a fun addition to a desktop.

Hitsupod
According to Hitsupod, his desk setup is a work in progress, but its current look is inspired by airy lofts and art studios. Similar to other gamers, a productive space for work and gaming is a no-brainer. Since he’s been streaming on Twitch for seven years, his focus is encouraging others to enter the world of escapism through cozy games, especially indie games like Coffee Talk.

Ryeale Britt
Since Ryeale Britt’s hobbies include Twitch streaming, music production, video editing, and photography, his desk serves many purposes. Over time, he quickly noticed that his environment plays a huge role in attentiveness, which led to him testing and trying out over 20 different keyboards. Between miniature wooden planters and plushes of grass-type Pokemon, nature is a big element in his desk setup.
