A keto diet consists of eating foods with low carbs. Whether you plan on doing a keto diet for a few weeks, months or permanently, a keto diet is great for losing weight and living a healthy lifestyle. And, what’s better than a diet that still lets you drink your favorite cocktails? Aside from the alcohol, sugar is one of the biggest elements in a cocktail. A keto diet requires a low amount of sugar, meaning that you should limit soda, juice, candy, cake, ice cream, desserts and other foods high in sugar. With drinking cocktails on a keto diet, you can still enjoy some of your favorite flavors, as long as you use sugar-free or lighter alternatives.
The great thing about cocktails is that most forms of alcohol are naturally low-carb. You can use a variety of different types of liquor including brandy, rum, vodka, tequila, gin, whiskey and more. Keep in mind that sugar is made up of carbs, so once you start adding in different syrups and fruit to your drink, it’ll be higher in carbs. Of course, during a keto diet and in general, it’s important to drink in moderation. So, we recommend not adding too much liquor to your cocktails.
