In the great words of singer Aaliyah, “And if at first you don’t succeed, then dust yourself off and try again.” That’s exactly what model and entrepreneur Kimora Lee Simmons did, which led to her selling her home for a whopping $16.5 million. Lee Simmons originally listed the property in January for $23 million and sold the Beverly Hills pad in July, according to TMZ.

The Baby Phat founder and CEO bought the massive 9,405 square feet abode in 2008 for $11 million. The home is a 1990 build and boasts seven bedrooms and nine bathrooms. Upon entry, you’ll be greeted by a majestic wrought iron staircase that leads to the second floor of the home. The lavish property also features a spa, gym, butler’s pantry, library, and garden that transports you to a “Bridgerton” episode.

According to The Dirt, which is now housed on the Robb Report, the master bedroom where Lee Simmons slept is decked out with a private balcony, dual baths with walk-in closets, and a wood-burning fireplace for cozy nights in. The kitchen is regal in a beige color palette with a deep recessed ceiling and cabinets with Neo-classical detailing. The large island in the kitchen is painted in a shade of pistachio green and has a power outlet, sink, marble countertops, and cabinet storage.

Buy to Rent?

Lee Simmons has been putting the swanky pad on and off the rental market for years. She last rented the abode in December for a reported $62,600 per month. The new owner has the same intentions. They’ve already listed the property on the rental market for $100,000 per month. TMZ reports that the new owner will eventually move in full-time after completely renovating the home.

Marc Noah of Sotheby’s International Realty represented Lee Simmons in the sale of this property.
