How early is too early to plan your home’s aesthetic for 2025? Trend forecasting companies WGSN and Coloro have already started. They recently announced their prediction for 2025’s color of the year, and it’s a harmonious marriage of deep violet and midnight blue. Named “Future Dusk” and also referred to as Coloro 129-35-18, WGSN describes the color as exuding a sense of “escapism, and feeds into the themes of transition — whether it be moving from dark to light or dusk to dawn — making it perfect for a period of immense change.”
We’ve been heading in the direction of futurism in fashion and design over the past few years, with projects like Beyoncé’s “Renaissance” influencing us to embrace futuristic silhouettes, color palettes, and modern designs.
The Color of the Future
According to WGSN, the color palette used in spring/summer 2025 will “reflect a significant shift towards strategic imagination, where innovative ideas will be crucial in solving the challenges arising from a continued period of disruption, volatility, and uncertainty.”
This color can be used as a neutral in home decor. Add a metallic finish for a fresh take on modern interior design. It’s a gender-neutral color that can be used interchangeably in fashion, design, and art and transcends aesthetics and design styles. The new color could also be a nod to our ever-changing world, with new technology like the metaverse and AI.

Urangoo Samba, WGSN’s head of color, says, “In the near future, the lines between reality and fantasy will become more blurred than ever. Future Dusk is an immersive and transformative color, aligned with this direction.”
Future Dusk is definitely a nod to the future. We can see it being used in textiles, furniture colors, wallpaper, and more. You can subtly add the color of the future into your home design with knickknacks, throw pillows, and vases. Maximize the color using statement pieces and layering.
The brand previously predicted Digital Lavender would be the shade of 2023 and Apricot Crush for 2024.
