The Weeknd Sells His Luxury Los Angeles Penthouse: Inside the $18 Million Deal

August 24, 2023 at 5:08 PM PST

After almost two years of being on the market, singer The Weeknd, whose real name is Abel Makkonen Tesfaye, sold his seldom-used penthouse in Westwood, Los Angeles. The luxe condo takes up the entire 18th floor of the 22-story high-end Beverly West building. The generously sized condo was sold to married Drs. David and Andrea Feinberg, who, according to the Robb Report, are the former president and CEO of the UCLA Health System and currently chairman of Oracle Health, respectively.

According to property records, the Feinberg family paid $18 million and an extra $1 million for furnishings. This is one of the highest condo prices in Los Angeles history but falls short of the initial $22.5 million asking price. In fact, the selling price is $3 million less than what Tesfaye originally paid for it when he purchased it four years ago. Tesfaye has since upgraded to a $69 million Bel Air property, so it’s doubtful that this loss will impact him greatly.

Breathtaking 360-degree Views

What makes this condo special is its breathtaking 360-degree views overlooking the Los Angeles skyline, Santa Monica Mountains, and the Pacific Ocean. The home has expansive glass walls and boasts nearly 8,000 square feet of modern living space, including four bedrooms and eight bathrooms.

With high ceilings, custom lighting, and rich walnut paneling throughout, this opulent penthouse is a visual treat. The master suite is especially opulent, with a large walk-in closet and a bathroom big enough to be an apartment on its own with a steam shower, soaking tub, and personal balcony.

Additional highlights of this condo include a temperature-controlled wine storage area, a gym lined with mirrors, a custom Italian kitchen equipped with high-end Miele appliances, and a wet bar.

Beverly West

The building that houses this magnificent space was built in the 2010s and consists of 35 luxury condos. Amenities for residents include valet parking, round-the-clock concierge service, security personnel, a swimming pool, and a rooftop helipad. These amenities come at a steep price. For example, this specific penthouse’s monthly homeowner association fees exceed $8,000.

This property listing was managed by Angel Salvador for The Beverly Hills Estates, while the buyers were represented by Brian Lane from Madison Residential Realty.
