So whether you’re kicking off the day or capping off the night, here are five ways to enjoy the lively blend of cocktails with caffeine.

Espresso Martini

* 1 1/2 oz vodka
* 1 oz coffee liqueur (e.g., Kahlua)
* 1 oz freshly brewed espresso
* 1/2 oz simple syrup
* Ice
* Coffee beans for garnish

Instructions: Shake all ingredients with ice until well-chilled. Strain into a chilled martini glass and garnish with coffee beans.

Irish Coffee

* 1 1/2 oz Irish whiskey
* 4 oz hot brewed coffee
* 1 oz heavy cream
* 1 tsp brown sugar (optional)

Instructions: Pour hot coffee into a warmed glass, add whiskey and sugar, and stir until dissolved. Gently float cold cream on top by pouring it over the back of a spoon.

Black Russian

* 1 1/2 oz vodka
* 3/4 oz coffee liqueur
* Ice
* Coffee beans for garnish (optional)

Instructions: Fill a rocks glass with ice. Pour vodka and coffee liqueur over the ice and stir well. Garnish with coffee beans if desired.

Mexican Coffee


* 1 1/2 oz tequila
* 1 oz Kahlua or other coffee liqueur
* 6 oz hot brewed coffee
* Whipped cream
* Cinnamon (optional)

Instructions: Pour tequila and coffee liqueur into a mug, then fill with hot coffee. Top with whipped cream and sprinkle with cinnamon if desired.

Mocha Martini

Instructions: Shake all ingredients with ice until well-chilled. Strain into a chilled martini glass and garnish with chocolate shavings.
