If you love shopping at Wayfair but wish you could see the pieces in person before purchasing, you now can. The home decor retailer has opened its first large-format store in Wilmette, Illinois. This two-story, 150,000-square-foot space houses everything from furniture and home decor to appliances and housewares. With such a vast selection, there’s something for every style and budget, making it a one-stop shop for all your home needs.
The store is designed to offer a seamless, enjoyable shopping experience, merging the retailer’s online value, selection, and service with an immersive in-person environment. Shoppers can explore 19 different departments, each curated to help them find exactly what they need for their homes.

Liza Lefkowski, Wayfair vice president of merchandising and stores, shares in a press release, “We are committed to providing our customers with unparalleled shopping experiences, tailored to their preferences, whether they choose to shop online or in-store. The opening of our Wilmette location marks an exciting chapter for Wayfair, reinforcing our position as the premier destination for home goods.”
She adds, “Our store is thoughtfully designed to be both inspirational and practical, empowering shoppers to create spaces that are just right for them.”
An Immersive Experience
The store’s layout is strategically designed to help shoppers find what they need quickly and easily. Shoppers have access to free expert design services and home improvement advice on-site, available for both scheduled appointments and walk-ins. You can also take certain products home the same day and enjoy free shipping on most items within a day or two.
Head to The Porch, Wayfair’s debut restaurant, for a variety of small bites, salads, soups, coffee, and more. It’s the perfect way to refuel while shopping or to catch up with friends.

In an effort to celebrate local culture, the Wilmette store features a custom mural along the exterior wall of the store by Chicago resident and Long Grove native Alyssa Low, paying homage to the local community.
