The Bottega Veneta Spring/Summer 2025 runway show, which took place in Milan on Sept. 21, 2024, left fashion enthusiasts and home decor lovers alike in awe. While the masterpieces on the catwalk were undoubtedly the main attraction, an unusual display caught the eye of many attendees. Instead of the typical traditional bench seating at runway shows, guests were greeted with a whimsical array of animal-shaped leather bean bag chairs. This adds a touch of playfulness to the event.
Where Did The Chair Inspiration Come From?
The front row was a sight to behold, with celebrities like A$AP Rocky comfortably perched on these seating arrangements, fully immersed in the designs of Bottega Veneta’s creative director, Matthieu Blazy. This unconventional seating choice was not merely a random decision but a carefully curated element that played into the nostalgic theme of the show. Blazy draws inspiration from the iconic Zanotta Sacco chair, which debuted in 1968 and was designed by Italian visionaries Piero Gatti, Cesare Paolini, and Franco Teodoro.

The range of seating options was extensive, featuring 15 different animals and insects. The selection, featuring dogs, birds, elephants, horses, cats, whales, and bears, resembled a collection of creatures from a beloved childhood storybook. The animal-shaped chairs were intentionally designed in leather and positioned lower to the ground. This encouraged attendees to connect with their inner child—a theme that strongly resonated with Blazy’s Spring/Summer 2025 runway collection.
