Pharrell Williams knows that there is no limit when it comes to creativity. The famed producer, musical artist, and all-around creative is not only the new men’s creative director at Louis Vuitton, succeeding Virgil Abloh, but he is also the founder of JOOPITOR, an online auction house and content platform. According to the site, the auction house aims to build a space for today’s collectors, curators, and creators. “JOOPITER honors rare cultural artifacts, their provenance, and intrinsic relevance through auctions curated with knowledge and care,” says the site.

Williams is taking his creative endeavors to new, out-of-this-world heights with his Just Phriends exhibit in Paris.

Just Phriends in Paris

In the latest from JOOPITER, Just Phriends is an online auction taking place from June 19 to 24. The items in the collection will be on display at Galerie Perrotin, an art gallery housed in an 18th-century Parisian mansion, from June 20 to 24. Williams curates the collection in collaboration with long-time friend Sarah Andelman, a French tastemaker and founder of the boutique Collette, which closed in 2017. Andelman now works to amplify independent artists via Just An Idea.

“For this unique auction, I immediately thought of bringing together the artists and designers who have a history of working with Pharrell, but also a new generation of talents I love and find relevant in today’s culture, that’s why it’s called Just Phriends,” Andelman shares in a statement.

The collection is comprised of work ranging from blue-chip art to exclusive collaborations like a sculpture by Williams and famed artist Takashi Murakami entitled The Simple Things, 2008-2009.

On opening night, two guests will have the chance of a lifetime to experience a night at the gallery. The top floor will transform into a bedroom where the guests can enjoy for a night. In celebration of Williams’ 50th year of life, the stay will only cost about €50.

Guests will have access to exclusive fashion events during the week.
