Cleaning can be hard to prioritize with the everyday demands of wellness and working. However, a clean environment plays a key role in the quality of our wellness and how well we’re able to focus. So those weekly cleaning sessions that we may dread actually come in handy once we’re able to experience our space as enjoyable and multifunctional.
There are tricks, though, that can either simplify your cleaning experience or enhance the cleanliness altogether. Also known as #CleanTok, this corner of TikTok showcases the skills and overall passion of cleaners across the world. Now you can try these viral cleaning hacks from TikTok’s tidiest content creators.
First Five Places To Clean
There are some people who clean weekly while others clean daily. @davidlockridge2.0 says there are five places in his home that he cleans daily, which makes the weekly cleaning that much simpler. Those places are:
- Rugs
- Sinks
- Toilets
- Floors
- (If necessary) Load of laundry
Two More Cleaning Places We Ignore
Similarly, @operation_niki incorporates cleaning into her daily life whether at home prepping for the day with her family or cleansing her hotel room while on a trip.
However, she doesn’t stop there: @operation_niki’s content expands to two more locations:
- Cars
- Bottom of trash cans
Vacuuming the rugs and wiping down the surfaces are just two ways that she maintains the cleanliness of her vehicle. Inside the home, she recommends doing the same regularly, along with cleaning the unseen spots like the bottom of our trash cans and other places that might cause odors to develop.
Clean, Cook and Clean Again
Back to our cars, @itsekcho reminds us to think outside of the box by using cleaners in places other than where recommended. With glass cleaner from dollar-value stores, the CleanToker is able to clean her car seats, making them look, feel and smell brand new. Not only is this hack budget-friendly but efficient in getting the job done. She has a trick for cleaning another popular item:
- Appliances
Those fingerprints that you can’t seem to get off your stainless steel appliances? @itsekccho has found the hack of using a microfiber towel and baby oil to make your appliances look streak-free again.
Don’t Walk On By These Last Two
Along the lines of streaks, this next TikTok user walks out how he talks it by cleaning:
- Floors
You won’t find any streaks on the floors of @shaunllewellyn_ , who has found ways to have fun with cleaning. Microfiber slippers and his SwifterMop help the CleanToker to keep his floors spotless. Throw on some music, and you’ll be burning cardio while getting to those household chores from the floor master himself. Win-win!
Last, but certainly not least, @nowitsclean covers an array of cleaning topics in her content, including one we use for photo frames and art work:
- Walls
Whether behind the oven or in the restroom, walls deserve tender love and care, as do many of the other areas and surfaces in our homes. A good wiping might do the trick. Tile and grout walls will require a bit more attention to detail. She encourages us not to neglect these places that might go unseen by guests.
We deserve to enjoy the cleanliness of our spaces too. We live there! Between cleaning daily, getting to the spaces we forget and thinking outside of the box, these 10 cleaning hacks should be remembered during your next cleaning day.
