Bretman Rock has been in the public eye for less than a decade, but we can hardly remember what the internet was like without his warm presence. The self-proclaimed “digital celebrity” was born in Sanchez Mira, Phillippines in 1998, but by age seven, his family relocated across the world to America, settling down in stunning Hawaii. Always one to express himself creatively, Rock began sharing himself online as he grew into a teen. Thanks to his consistency and the good vibes he constantly emanates, the 25-year-old now has over 40 million followers across YouTube, TikTok, Instagram and Twitter.
Though he spends a lot of time in Los Angeles due to his work in the beauty space, Rock never wanted to move to Sun City full-time to keep himself grounded. “My favorite part about living in Hawaii is just the energy of living here, it’s just such a magical place to live in. I really could not see myself thriving anywhere else,” he once shared.
Where Does Bretman Rock Live?
Though he likes to stay near his family so that he can still enjoy his mom’s cooking, Rock purchased a 3,000-square-foot property in Ewa Beach. Here, he was able to make his vision of “gay Asian immigrant success” personified come true. After taking possession in 2018, the content creator collaborated with MCYIA – a local interior design firm – to bring his fantasy to life. “I wanted the house to feel as if a cool, gay island kid got really rich,” Rock told Architectural Digest. “I was looking for women who understood that I’m a weird person,” he added of choosing the perfect collaborators.
Just one of the many facets of his life the beauty guru documented on YouTube was the extensive renovations his home underwent from 2019 to 2021. Instead of keeping the five bedrooms in their initial state, he converted them into spaces to help enhance his career. One became a luxurious spot for Rock to get ready, boasting a “ring light big enough for an elephant, and a prodigious wall of wigs in every color under the rainbow.” Another became the influencer’s second closet, while a third room is now a recording studio with a green screen and plenty of professional equipment to ensure Rock’s fans get the best quality material from him.
Elsewhere in the Ewa Beach property, the LGBTQ+ icon keeps a stripper pole in his bedroom, and its former attic is now known as his “BretMan Cave.” The latter is the perfect spot for entertaining guests, housing bean bag chairs, a pool table, Rock’s crystal collection and floral mahjong sets. Paying homage to his Asian roots was incredibly important to the reality star, and he further did so by importing furniture designed by Kenneth Cobonpue from his native country. Among Bretman Rock’s favorites is the Dragnet lounge furniture which he keeps in his living room and outdoor area.
On his socials, the Filipino multi-talent often shares workout content from his home gym. His Hawaiian paradise also has an office space where he can attend to business matters and a two-car garage. Rock is showing no signs of slowing down, and we can’t wait to see what’s next for him.
