- 2 oz rye whiskey
- 1 sugar cube (or ¼ oz simple syrup)
- 2-3 dashes Angostura bitters
- Orange peel for garnish

Instructions
1. Place the sugar cube in an old fashioned glass.
2. Add Angostura bitters to the sugar cube and muddle.
3. Add a small splash of water and stir until sugar is mostly dissolved.
4. Add whiskey to the glass.
5. Add one large ice cube or several smaller ones.
6. Stir gently for about 30 seconds to chill and dilute.

- 1 oz fresh lemon juice
- ¾ oz simple syrup
- ½ oz red wine (preferably dry)
- 1 egg white (optional)
Instructions
1. If using egg white, combine whiskey, lemon juice, simple syrup, and egg white in a shaker. Dry shake (without ice) vigorously for 30 seconds.
2. Add ice to the shaker and shake again for 10-15 seconds until well-chilled.
