Kit Kemp, British interior designer and founder of Firmdale Hotels, recently launched her latest collection with Spode, an English pottery and homeware brand. The collaboration between the two brands includes several collections overall that include a variety of assorted tableware and gifting items. Altogether, the collaboration offers pieces to meet your needs for every facet of dining and entertaining in the home.

The latest drop from the co-collaborators is the Calypso collection — a playful yet sophisticated dinnerware set perfect for your next hosting event.

“We always say color makes us happy, and it’s amazing how it can spice up our cooking. No matter what time of year, it is always sunny in our house with this colorful range on the table,” Kit Kemp said of the collection in a statement.

The Details

This beautiful, eye-catching dinnerware set has a strong color palette influenced by the Caribbean. The dinnerware features seas of blue, pink and yellow set on elegant stonewares and porcelain.

“This is affordable luxury,” Lou Scala, owner of the Spode brand, told Tableware International. “We felt there was a need in the market for a contemporary collection from the Spode brand, and this is an update on traditional tableware with a push towards gifting.”

The current collections include Tall Trees, Geo, Doodles, Alphabet Mugs, Flow Glassware, and other holiday and cutlery collections.

“I have always loved the Spode name and its inspirational designs,” Kit Kemp said. “To have the opportunity to bring a contemporary twist with a nod to the past is challenging but exciting. I feel very much at home with Spode’s ideas and aspirations to create comprehensive and colorfully crafted collections.”

Both brands worked together for over a year to create the current collection.
