You probably do not need a statistic to believe that most adults do not get a full night’s rest every night; it’s no secret and a part of everyday life. However, we all know we need at least eight hours of sleep to function properly, though that often does not feel like an option. Those who may have the time to sleep may find it difficult to lay their body to rest to get an adequate amount of sleep. If this is you, consider trying bedtime mocktails to calm your body down and allow you to relax and prepare to sleep. TikTok has been raving about the “Sleepy Girl Mocktail” and this list includes that viral recipe and more.
What Are Bedtime Mocktails?
Though it may be tempting to just have a regular cocktail before sleeping, bedtime mocktails are the better way to go for quality rest. Cocktails typically contain alcohol, which can disrupt sleep patterns. Even moderate alcohol consumption can interfere with the quality of sleep, leading to more frequent awakenings during the night and a reduction in overall sleep duration. Mocktails, on the other hand, are alcohol-free, reducing the likelihood of sleep disturbances.
Mocktails also often include ingredients known for their calming and soothing properties, such as chamomile, lavender, mint, and certain fruits. These ingredients may have natural sedative effects or help reduce stress and anxiety, promoting relaxation and aiding in the transition to sleep. Plus they are not dehydrating like alcohol can be.
