Season 3 of ‘Bridgerton’ has had the girls in a chokehold since it premiered last month. Searches for “Bridgerton style” surged by 182% in the first week and #florals have gained over 3 million views on TikTok in the US.

The quintessential Bridgerton interior style is part of the ‘regencycore’ trend and combines vintage furniture with floral prints and designs. Florals can be challenging to style in the home, but with the tips from Rhiannon Johns, interior designer and head of brand at Piglet in Bed, you’ll be able to seamlessly bring this trend into your home. Here’s how.

Start with subtle soft furnishings.

“Soft furnishings such as duvet covers, cushions, and throws are great accent pieces and will ease the trend into your home,” says Johns. Small, delicate prints can add a whimsical, Bridgerton-esque charm. As you grow more comfortable with the look, layer different sizes, colors, and fabrics to create a more eclectic feel.

Make a statement with your walls.

According to Johns, “Your walls are the largest space in your home, so focusing your floral prints here will have the biggest impact.” You can add florals to your walls with wallpaper or a handprinted mural.

If you want to stay minimalist, opt for floral wallpaper in a neutral color palette. Maximalists should choose florals in a bold palette. “Different colors will create different vibes. For example, greens and blues will add an invigorating freshness to your space, whilst florals set against dark, moody hues will create a mysteriously striking look.”

Let your wallpaper make a statement by sticking to plain furniture.

Tailor florals to each room.

“Floral designs come in many forms, and it can be hard to choose what to put where. It makes sense to incorporate floral patterns into relevant spaces, based on both design and style,” says Johns.

Match the floral design to the room’s function. Botanical prints work beautifully in the kitchen or pantry, whether on wallpaper, artwork, or table accessories like napkins. In the bedroom, select prints that create a calming vibe. Soft, ditsy florals in pastel shades or larger prints in neutral tones help maintain a restful space.
