Yarn Eggs

Ditch the plastic eggs this year and create these yarn eggs instead. Hollow enough to hold your favorite treats, lie them around your home in decorative bowls or place them on your shelves. Choose any color of yarn that best suits your current decor style and watch them elevate your space.

Here’s what you’ll need:

  • Small balloons
  • Glue
  • Yarn
  • Scissors
  • Clothes pins

First, blow your balloon up to the size you’d like your egg to be and set it to the side. (Consider making it a decent size to fit your treats in later.) Then, create a sticky mixture of glue and water in a bowl. After you cut long strings of yarn, add them to the bowl to soak in the glue. Lastly, wrap the yarn pieces around the ballon in every direction until it has your desired egg shape. You can add more than one color of yarn if you’re feeling spicy. Then, hang your eggs up with a clothespin and leave them overnight to dry.

Once dry, pop the balloon to find the perfect yarn egg. To add treats, gently stretch the bottom gap large enough to fit your treats. Close it back up with extra yarn and watch your guests’ faces light up with surprise.

Carrot Patch

If you’re looking to expand your Easter decorations outdoors, then look no further. Creating a cute carrot patch to spruce up your garden might just be what you’ve been looking for. Give the illusion of carrots growing out of your garden with this step-by-step tutorial.

Here’s what you’ll need:

  • Faux fern stems
  • Orange cones

Place the cones in the order or pattern in which you want your carrot patch to look. Then, stick the fern stems in the center hole and into the ground — these will act as the carrot stems. And there you have it; a cute and easy carrot-filled garden.

Giant Peeps

Looking for a DIY Easter decoration that will leave your neighbors speechless? These giant bunny peeps are the answer. Nothing truly says Easter like colorful giant peeps filling up your yard and brightening up your home.

Here’s what you’ll need:

  • Paint
  • Wooden sticks or skewers
  • Foam boards
  • Posterboard
  • Pencil
  • Scissors or knife
  • Black acrylic paint

First, trace and cut your peep’s bunny shape on the posterboard and place it onto your foam board. Then, use a knife to cut out the shape. Remember, the smoother the edges, the better. Afterward, grab your favorite holiday colors and spray paint each peep. Make sure you cover all sides and leave no white areas. Next, insert the wooden skewer into the bottom, and use black acrylic paint to paint on the bunny’s face. Add your bunnies to your outdoor scenery, and you’ve got cute and easy decorations that are sure to impress.
