Minimal on the cliche, reality TV show drama but big on creative design ideas, these shows will give you the confidence to channel your style into your home decor and perhaps, even make a few bold choices outside of your comfort zone.

1Designing Miami
Designing Miami is a Netflix reality show based on real-life interior designer power couple, Ray and Eilyn Jimenez. This reality TV show is all about prime real estate and lux design. It premiered last year and chronicles the pair’s rival interior design firms competing to remodel homes for high-end Miami clients. If you are a design novice, be sure to give this one a watch as it even defines key terminology and techniques — so you’ll feel like you’re in design class 101. Fingers crossed that there will be a Season 2!
2Artfully Designed
If you have a love for art but need a few ideas on how to artfully curate your space, this Magnolia Network reality TV show will pique your interest. The lead designers on Artfully Designed are interior expert Natalie Papier, muralist Racheal Jackson and visual abstract artist Frankie Zombie. This three-person team thoughtfully blends art with interior design to take their clients’ living space to the next level. Unlike traditional design techniques that place art last, these designers place the artwork first and treat every room like its own canvas.
3Amazing Interiors
Ordinary outside, extraordinary inside. In this Netflix series, eccentric and over-the-top homeowners’ wildest dreams come to life. Amazing Interiors is about regular homes being transformed into spectacular spaces. Throw minimalism and simplicity out the window. On this show home projects range from a backyard roller coaster to under-bed waterfalls and even include an indoor aquarium!
4Flip or Flop Fort Worth
Meet Andy and Ashley Williams, two retired veterans turned real estate investors, who know a thing or two about renovating an ugly home. In Flip or Flop Fort Worth, this power design couple buys, fixes and flips houses in rundown neighborhoods and transforms them into masterpieces. The best part is that they intentionally hire fellow veterans on their home projects and they are focused on helping veterans become landlords of their properties.
5LIVING BY DESIGN
Designers Jake and Jazz Smollett know a thing or two about turning a house into a home. In LIVING BY DESIGN, this brother-sister duo showcase their expertise with simple design solutions for everyday dilemmas. They cater to millennials and young clientele who are starting families, moving into their first homes and looking to transform the spaces where they live, work and play.
