Home exterior design solution and fiber cement home siding company James Hardie recently released its first-ever Color of the Year for exterior siding. The color, Mountain Sage, is a serene green shade representing more than just a color. Mountain Sage embodies a growing trend in consumer consciousness towards mental well-being. It represents a desire for living spaces that reflect tranquility and a connection with nature.
Selecting Mountain Sage
The selection of Mountain Sage involved a blend of expert opinions and homeowner insights. James Hardie’s survey and research on consumer trends from an independent research group was used. Recent research shows a significant shift in consumer priorities. Mental wellness is now as important as physical health by 78% of people worldwide. This shift is mirrored in the increasing popularity of green hues in home decor, known for their mood-boosting properties. Mountain Sage captures this essence. The serene green shade adds aesthetic appeal to exteriors and promotes a sense of calm and well-being.
Sean Gadd, President of James Hardie North America, expressed his enthusiasm in a press release: “We are thrilled to introduce James Hardie’s inaugural Color of the Year selection, which was a meticulous process that involved deep data and insights collection from homeowners, consumer trends and input from a diverse panel of industry experts.”
Gadd continues, “Mountain Sage was the clear choice as it perfectly embodies the aesthetic qualities and timeless appeal that homeowners desire for their exteriors.”
Mountain Sage is one of James Hardie’s ColorPlus® Technology finishes. This finish makes painting low maintenance for homeowners with its resistance to fading, chipping, and cracking.
“We believe this color will inspire homeowners to reimagine their home’s exterior and connect with nature in a whole new way,” says Gadd.
