Collecting Black art isn’t just a passive pursuit — it’s a powerful act of cultural preservation and artist empowerment. The Home & Texture team recently discovered an inspiring TikTok featuring Dr. Rosemarie Ingleton, a New York dermatologist whose discerning eye for exceptional artwork has culminated into the most stunning and thought-provoking collection.

In celebration of Black History Month, Dr. Ingleton opened her doors virtually, giving viewers an intimate peek into a space transformed by stunning pieces from Black artists. Each work in her collection tells a distinct and meaningful story. This goes beyond mere aesthetic appreciation — it represents an active investment in preserving our cultural heritage and ensuring these vital artistic voices continue to resonate with new generations.

Among the remarkable pieces in Dr. Ingleton’s collection stands a stunning work titled “Rose” by renowned artist Lorna Simpson, named after the dermatologist.
