Home & Texture’s “House Tours” returns with an exciting new season in Atlanta, featuring creative duo Michelle Norris and Forrest Aguar’s stunning Tropical Modernism condo.
As their first home, the couple has filled it with elements representing their personal style, their creative brand Tropico Photo, inspirations from their travels, a savvy green thumb, and a love for local artists, as most of the art in their home is from Atlanta creatives.
Key standout areas include the living room, patio, and bedroom, each telling a unique yet cohesive story that brings the entire condo together. This creates a living environment that perfectly reflects Norris and Aguar’s creative vision and lifestyle.
The Living Room That Creatives Built
A standout feature is the couple’s thoughtful division of the condo into distinct spaces. The living room showcases a custom shelving unit by Silt Studio, serving as a focal point. “We love its Memphis-inspired design, and the custom nature allowed us to perfectly match the colors used throughout the space,” Norris explains.
The unit’s most appealing element is its fluted section housing the television, which can be opened or closed to conceal the entertainment system when not in use.
Atlanta-Eclectic Patio Living
To complement the industrial exterior of the condo, Aguar created an eye-catching patio design featuring pink turf as the centerpiece, surrounded by tropical plants for a lush and green feeling. Teal seating chairs add a pop of color, while playful flamingo decorations inject a whimsical touch. The space is beautifully tied together with potted plants, artfully created by Norris, bringing a personal and artistic flair to the outdoor area.
A Bedroom Fit For The Dreamer
Norris and Aguar’s design style shows that bedrooms should remain fun and authentic to personal taste, even in adulthood. Their bedroom exemplifies this philosophy, seamlessly integrating with the condo’s overall aesthetic with elements such as abstract touches on the bed, a funky mirror design, and a continuation of local art displays.
To enhance functionality and style, the couple chose yellow-greenish lockers from Mustard Maid, adding an unusual twist to bedroom organization while maintaining the space’s playful character.
