When it comes to NBA players, Andre Iguodala stands out as one of the most dynamic. He is known for his stellar career with the Golden State Warriors. But as the years pass, he has earned a reputation not only as a versatile player but also as a person with impeccable taste. While his on-court accolades are impressive, his real estate ventures offer an intriguing glimpse into his lifestyle. For example, the popular Golden State Warriors player once had a home in the Sherman Oaks area. According to the Los Angeles Times, he purchased this property in 2009 for $1.05 million; it was later listed for $1.75 million in January 2016 and ultimately purchased for $1.425 million after being leased for up to $6,700 a month.

For the 6’6’’ basketball player, the spacious property was ideal. It featured high ceilings, round archways and was a pretty new build at the time. The home, which was built in 2007, has two levels, five bedrooms and five bathrooms. Another appealing feature of this property is the entertainment areas – both the living room and family area have fireplaces and there is also a bonus room. With nearly 4,000 square feet of space in a family friendly cul-de-sac, this space was likely great for entertaining.

About the Athlete’s Bay Area Home

Andre Iguodala has found a balance between luxury and functionality with his real estate choices. His homes are more than just a place to rest his head – they serve as private sanctuaries that complement his lifestyle. Whether he’s spending time with his family, recovering after a long season or entertaining business partners, his properties provide the perfect environment for every facet of his life. Iguodala’s most recent home was the epitome of this. It was in the Bay Area, which was a perfect location for his career. He purchased the home for $3.6 million in 2017.

Iguodala’s wife Christina reached out to Redmond Aldrich Design to make their home perfect for them. Senior designer Taylor Shanahan and founder Chloe Redmond Warner worked together to make the couple’s vision come to fruition. The 7,000 square foot house offered plenty of space to work with, boasting five bedrooms. Once the project was over, the home came to life; the couple added custom-made furniture for Iguodala’s stature, contemporary Black art pieces and an easy going California-esque vibe.

Once the player decided to spend a season with the Miami Heat, it was time to move on. Typically, selling a home is strenuous and the competitive market in California is no easy thing to navigate. But shortly after the couple listed the property, it sold. In fact, it sold extremely quickly for $3.6 million in just six weeks.

Where Does Iguodala Live Right Now?

Although not a lot is known about his current home, Iguodala’s real estate portfolio demonstrates a forward-thinking approach to wealth management. Each home he owns or invests in offers the potential for future returns. As with his Bay area home, he blends his personal aesthetic with smart financial decisions that can be profitable later.

Beyond this, Iguodala’s investment strategies have also led him to dabble in tech startups and venture capital, showing that he’s just as focused on his financial future as he is on his game. His diverse interests make him a role model for athletes transitioning to life beyond the court. Despite his relatively private home life, his recent career moves may mean that Iguodala will make other real estate investments.

Andre Iguodala is a Hall of Fame level player in the minds of many fans. Technically though, even though his talent is impressive it has not granted him a place as a Hall of Famer. Although he is an NBA Finals MVP and has played 19 seasons, even he does not believe he should be considered for the Hall of Fame.

As he said in a podcast interview reported on by NBC Sports, “I’m not a Hall of Famer if you ask me. If you ask me, no, no, no, no. Those guys [Hall of Famers] they had no flaws. And I think I was good, but like Kobe [Bryant], LeBron [James], c’mon, I can’t do that. A lot of us can’t do that.” Despite his doubt, many fans and even teammates of his think his depth of experience qualify him for the honor.

Iguodala has been a crucial part of the Golden State Warriors’ success, winning three NBA championships and earning the Finals MVP in 2015. His leadership and consistency has made him an essential figure on the court. He took the time to publicly acknowledge that the 2022-23 season would likely be his last, saying that it would be his “final dance.” However, true to his nature as someone who has always balanced his basketball career with ventures in business and technology, he didn’t make a grand announcement about retirement. Instead, he remained focused on his other ventures, including his podcast, media initiatives and investments.

Iguodala’s decision to step away from his beloved sport was likely made as he realized that his body and mind were ready for new challenges. With his legacy firmly cemented in the game, he’s chosen to embrace life after basketball. Whether he fully hangs up his jersey or just moves into a more advisory role within the Warriors remains to be seen. For now, it’s clear he’s made peace with his decision and is looking forward to his next chapter.
