Whether you know him for his prolific stand-up comedy career, screen acting talent or for his tenure hosting The Daily Show on Comedy Central, Trevor Noah is a generational icon. The South African native first moved to the United States to continue pushing his thriving career in 2009 and quickly made a name for himself within the international community. Whether he’s cracking wise about his upbringing under South Africa’s Apartheid regime, or pushing American crowds to think on a broader global scale, Noah is always pushing boundaries. Those who have followed his career in recent years know he left the host seat at The Daily Show in December 2022 to continue exploring the world and performing international stand-up tours.

Since he’s no longer tied down with a desk job, many fans have wondered where exactly Trevor Noah plans to live for the foreseeable future. Luckily, we’ve got you covered, with a comprehensive guide to the comedian’s property portfolio. We’ll take a brief look at his Los Angeles home, which he sold through Selling Sunset‘s Jason Oppenheim, as well as several high-profile residences the comedian has held in New York City over the years. While we can’t specify exactly where Noah is staying right this second, we can also confirm that he has been looking at new multi-million dollar developments in New York, signaling a continued desire to remain in the Big Apple.

Was the Comedian on ‘Selling Sunset’?

Though you may have seen numerous headlines connecting the comedian to the hit Netflix real estate series, it may come as a surprise that Trevor Noah has never actually appeared on the show in an official capacity. Realtor Jason Oppenheim let it slip on the air that he was helping the former Daily Show host offload his Bel-Air mansion for a multi-million dollar sum, prompting a wave of responses from the other cast members. Perhaps most famously, Amanza Smith commented that she had romantic feelings for Noah during the season eight episode, before adding that she was also in talks with the comedian to check out another property in the greater Los Angeles area. While we don’t know much about the latter deal, we can definitively say that Noah has sold his California home and is now living in New York full-time.

Before he offloaded the Bel-Air residence, however, the 11,300 square-foot estate served as an impressive West Coast home away from home for the beloved comedian. Mark Rio initially designed the space, which is constructed to mimic the layout of a museum. The home’s massive open floor plan, wall-to-wall shelving and glass accent pieces truly make it pop, alongside a few stunning windows that provide one of the best views in the neighborhood. Noah’s former property boasts a fully-stocked home gym, an in-ground pool, a personal sauna and a massive film screening room, accented by a large outdoor bar and entertainment area, making it an ideal space for a comedian breaking into the world of Hollywood.

Trevor Noah’s $10 Million NYC Penthouse

Back in 2017, just a few short years after he picked up hosting duties for Comedy Central’s flagship nightly news show, Trevor Noah purchased a penthouse suite in Hell’s Kitchen for the staggering price of $10.18 million. The unit, which was comprised of the top floor at the historic Stella Tower, came with an array of fresh renovations at the time, including quartz countertops, stone accent walls and even a private plunge pool. Arched doorways etched into high ceilings give the 3-bed 2.5-bath suite a truly luxurious feel, which is extremely hard to locate in the heart of the bustling city. This unit also brought in tons of natural light from a few floor-to-ceiling window fixtures and had plenty of natural energy and greenery thanks to the building’s well-maintained terrace.

At nearly 3,600 square feet, Noah had plenty of space to cook up heady comedic material about the state of global politics, especially after renovating one of the bedrooms into a home theater with a projector screen and surround sound speakers. Outside of his personal suite, Noah also had access to building amenities including cold storage, a full gym and a chic residents’ lounge. Shortly after departing from The Daily Show the comedian listed the penthouse for sale at $12.95 million, though he ultimately took a minor loss on the investment after accepting an offer of just $9.5 million in 2023. Today, the penthouse is owned by an event organizer named Marcus Evans, as Trevor Noah appears to be downsizing to a slightly more humble abode.

Noah’s Next Move: A West Village Condo?

These days it seems that Trevor Noah is keeping his living situation mostly private, though there have been rumblings about the comedian touring a $7.4 million condo in New York in recent months. If he does decide to pull the trigger on this unit, his new living space will be located in a historic warehouse-turned condo complex known as The Shepherd. The building was constructed in 1897 and offers a unique blend of centuries-old architecture and modern flare. With barrel-vaulted ceilings, herringbone oak floors and stunning views of the Hudson River, this property is a premiere destination for plenty of New York’s finest entertainers. Other notable figures who have owned units in the same building include Law & Order: SVU‘s Stephanie March and Jason Biggs.

Though the particular unit Trevor Noah is eyeing offers less space than the previous entries on this list, the 2,200-square-foot condo is far from a downgrade. The unit boasts a large master bedroom complete with its own dressing room and spa, electric heated floors and custom-made Miele appliances. The tenth-floor unit also offers access to a private basketball court, a fully-stocked gym and a landscaped courtyard sure to boost serotonin with its flowery bloom. Clearly, the comedic talent has an exceptional eye for the finer things when making real estate investments, even if they don’t always see major financial returns. Wherever Trevor Noah goes next, we’re sure he’ll find a way to inspire the space with friends, family, and plenty of laughter.
